Pediatric Care in Montrose ER

As a parent, you are responsible for making important health care decisions on behalf of your child. When your child is ill or injured, we want you to feel comfortable knowing we are equipped to provide pediatric care in urgent emergency situations.

All of our Houston doctors at Montrose Emergency Room are Board Certified. As such, the physicians undergo extensive training in evaluating and treating children with both urgent and emergent conditions. They all have experience working in pediatric emergency departments and trauma centers.

Our nurses have extensive pediatric experience and are all certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. In addition, our nurses have decades of combined experience working in pediatric emergency rooms. Some of our RNs have worked as pediatric emergency flight nurses.

Montrose Emergency Room understands the additional needs that come with children’s care. Our dedicated over sized pediatric rooms have additional seating for family and siblings. We take special effort to involve the parents in their child’s care. We carry multiple topical anesthetics to help ease the pain of laceration repairs or IV needle sticks. We also keep an extensive pharmacy stocked with pediatric medications just in case your child needs it. We also offer procedural sedation for children to make painful procedures much more tolerable for little patients and their parents. Situations where procedural sedation can be used in children include laceration repair, abscess drainage, spinal taps, and setting broken bones. All these procedures are routine for the staff at Montrose Emergency Room.

As you can see, we have taken the extra steps to ensure your child is taken care of by highly trained staff, and put them in an environment that is as comfortable as possible. We know you and your family will notice the difference!
